Computers for Rural Children - Maharashtra
Posted by: "sudhir.ssmandal@gmail.com" sudhir.ssmandal@gmail.comWed Nov 25, 2009Respected Sir / Madam, Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM) is a village basedvoluntary organization established in 1959 with a view to educate and empower the deprived rural people. We run one of the largest rural residential schools in India imparting education to 4000 rural children. SSM provides a homely shelter for 500 orphans taking care of their education and rehabilitation. Please find us at www.ssmandal.net Efforts are being made to develop potential qualities of the students through various activities. Presently, the rural children are lagging behind due to the digital divide. Though talented, but being in rural area, these poor and under privileged are deprived of today's basic educational facility. We are not short of professionals, nor of bright students. But due to high cost of systems, we are stranded from giving this rightful education to the students. Recently we have received Best Village Knowledge Centre award by the hands of Ms.Rufina Fernandis, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation, New Delhi. We have a computer lab with 10 PCs with internet access which is not proportionate to the total no. of students. To update the lab with enough no. of computers is the earnest necessity to expand the outreach. I earnestly request you to donate us 10 used or new computer systems which will be a constructive effort in the direction of our goal. Donations made to SSM are 100% exempted under 35 AC of Income Tax Act. It will be our proud and pleasure to acknowledge name of your well-known organization the computer lab of our school. I hopefully look forward for your positive response in this context. Sudhir Deshpande Project Coordinator Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal Shardanagar, Sagroli Dist. Nanded Maharashtra |
