>As the year comes to a close, I am writing to seek your support for Shanti Bhavan. You have probably heard of how well the children have been performing at school. We are now beginning to see the results of 13 years of hard work. The entire first two batches of high school graduating classes passed in "First Class," and over 50% of them achieved even higher "Distinctions," in national examinations conducted by the Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE).

>This accomplishment is unprecedented in India´s academic history for any school whose entire student body comes from socially and economically deprived backgrounds (Dalits also known as "untouchables"). Our children are now preparing for pre-university (Grade 12) examinations to enter top colleges.

>We are all extremely proud of the children of Shanti Bhavan. I am confident that they will be successful in their professional careers and as leaders of society in whatever fields they pursue.

>This Holiday Season, we at Shanti Bhavan, and I personally, would like to express our gratitude for your interest in our work and the progress of our children.
